Things You Should Know About Surabaya

Greetings To All Blog Readers,

Before I start my talks with you all, Let Me Introduce - Safira Juanda Resort [Residential prestigious south of Surabaya]

Yes, I had GREAT POSITIVE EXPERIENCES with this RESORT.

It is Close to Juanda International Airport, Railway Station and Terminal Gedangan Purabaya. The main road access Sidoarjo-Surabaya-Malang via East Rim. Also close to Alfamart, Indomart and Superindo.

Surabaya is the capital of the East Java province and is the second largest city in Indonesia. Surabaya is a commercial center with a big seaport - probably one of the largest in the region. The population of this city is approximately 3 million. It is the gateway city to Mount Bromo and to Mount Bali. Though many residents speak the local language Javanese, the national language of Indonesia is Bahasa. Bahasa is the official language and is used in business and education. Recently, English is also used for different purposes such as advertisings and public signs.

The Airport in the city is called Juanda Airport and has regular flights to the capital city, Jakarta and to other major cities of Indonesia. This is the second busiest airport in the country after Jakarta. A few direct international flights are also available from this airport. A fixed fare taxi service is available from the airport to the city which is around 18 km away.

When considering the main attractions in the area, "Surabaya zoo" takes a leading position as one of the most visited attractions. It is the largest zoo in Southeast Asia occupying a width of over 15 hectares and has been divided into several fractions for aquarium and brine, Bird watching, night animals and for a large variety of mammals.

The zoo was opened to public on the 31st August 1916 by a group of animal lovers. Now it is estimated that over 3,500 animals representing more than 400 species are housed in the zoo including Indonesia's rare and other endangered animals in the world. The tower in the zoo is a fantastic way to enjoy an all-inclusive panoramic view of the entire zoo. Visitors who would love to get on the back of the biggest mammal on earth will have the chance to have an exhilarating elephant back ride and also a camel ride.

I want to tell my experience about my trip to East Java especially to Mount Bromo when I was still at the secondary school, 12 years ago. I went with my parents, uncle, my friend and a driver. Our family started the tour from Bogor to Tegal, Central Java. We stayed one night in the hotel.

The next day, we started our trip from Tegal to Surabaya, East Java. We stayed the night in Garden Hotel at Jl. Pemuda Surabaya. The next day we concluded the trip. We chose the route from Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan, and stopped in Gending, a small town, about 12 km at the east of Probolinggo to meet an old friend.
